- Has been an active Lions Club member for over 41 years (April 1984 - Present)
- April 1984 - Joined the Hillsboro Lions Club. A member of the Club until January/February 1994, when transferred to the Waxahachie Lions Club.

- Proud Veteran who served four (4) years in the United States Marine Corps
- He is founding member of the Heroes Services Coalition, Inc., where he currently serves as Treasurer. The organization is active in service to Veterans and organizes and holds the annual Ellis County Veteran’s Day Celebration which honors the dedication and sacrifice of all Veterans and their families.
- He is also a member of the Ellis County Marine Corps League where he currently serves as Treasurer. The organization is active in service to Veterans and leads the annual Ellis County Toys for Tots Program.
